Trailer Cross Member Repair in Vaughan — Done Where It's Parked
Rotten or cracked cross members are one of the most common reasons a trailer fails its annual safety. Baaz Welding cuts them out and welds in new steel anywhere in Vaughan, up to around 20 cross members in a day, with no extra travel charge.

Why cross members fail
Cross members carry the floor, and they live underneath the trailer where Ontario road salt and slush sit all winter. Rust eats them from below until a forklift wheel punches through the floor. Vaughan's industrial areas along Highway 7, Steeles Avenue and the 400, 407 and 427 corridors are full of busy warehouses, which means heavy forklift traffic in and out of trailers every day.
Watch for soft spots or dips in the floor, boards that flex when a forklift rolls over them, rust flakes and holes you can see from underneath, and cross members that are cracked or pulled away from the side rails. Catch it early and it's a few cross members. Leave it, and it's a whole floor.
How we replace cross members
We cut out the damaged cross members, weld in new steel, and re-lay or fasten the floor or deck over them so the trailer is back in service and ready for inspection. We work on dry vans, reefers and flatbeds, including new hardwood deck boards on flatbeds.
We can replace up to around 20 cross members in a day, and we can do it anywhere: your yard in Vaughan, a dock if the site allows it, or our shop at 115 Orenda Rd in Brampton if you'd rather drop the trailer off.
